Season 1

It all started with a gig gone wrong.

Fixer Medusa Jones lost her entire crew in a botched attempt to hack city infrastructure and caused some collateral damage in the process. A hiccup causes Night City locals Branton, Cassandra, Mr_Friend, The Rabbit, and Xer0 to be accidentally declared dead. As they each try to solve this predicament, they are contacted by Medusa.

She brings them all together, recruiting them to finish the job she botched. If they agreed, they’d get paid a sizable fee and she’d make sure they’re declared living again. With reluctance and trepidation, the Crew unites to pull off their first gig: steal valuable truffles from an exec’s car in a nightclub parking garage.

The gig is mostly a success, though a booster gang member happened to snap from cyberpsychosis and go on a murderous rampage in the middle of things. The Crew discovers some surprise cargo along with the truffles; a large armored box containing pre-war Arasaka tech. Medusa warned the Crew to ditch it, but Mr_Friend took it home anyway.

The Crew’s next gig with Medusa was for a pharmacorp. They needed to steal a street drug called Empire and blow up the facilities of The Bronze, the gang in charge of production. Branton secured Empire to deliver to the client (and scored a boatload extra for himself). Xer0 manufactured a gang war between The Bronze and South Steel. At the gig, Cassandra discovers that the explosives they were provided with were tampered and designed to take the Crew out before they could escape.

The gang pulls off the job and delivers the Empire, but they are pissed. As a sign of loyalty, Medusa helps them get revenge. The Crew breaks into the home of the pharma exec who ordered their deaths and Medusa kills her. During their subsequent escape, the Crew encounters LwrMng, a strange gang living in an abandoned underground mall. Cassandra helped them build defenses in exchange for safe passage.

Mr_Friend discovers his box is a special AI named CRDNL and he becomes obsessed with interacting with it. As law enforcement and criminal elements start putting pressure on Mr_Friend, he has Cassandra rig a bomb to CRDNL with a dead man’s switch as a security measure.

Branton is under pressure from his boss to ensure the new hair growth supplement he’s managing is on schedule. But things are complicated by the reappearance of Ryan Moore, a man whose life was ruined by Branton. Now leading the Santa Khan booster gang, Ryan ambushes the Crew and frames Branton for killing a sex worker. Branton thinks he’s gonna lose his job and falls into an existential crisis.

Cassandra is under pressure from her superior to increase her recruitment efforts to their cult. She’s been working on The Rabbit, who just wants to see her friend do well. But in his vulnerable state, Cassandra sees Branton as easy pickings.

Everything would be fine for The Rabbit if that jerk Alfie stopped trying to wreck every gig she’s on. Also, she’s getting shot way more than expected and has nearly died twice. The Rabbit’s initial enthusiasm is beginning to shake because dying hurts and is scary.

Xer0’s love life lands the Crew in a jam. Lishan Tachibana, an old flame and netrunner is in a bind. Beyond being sick, she’s forced to work a dangerous covert gig for Michiko Arasaka’s people. She winds up luring the entire Crew in.

The Crew needed to head to the Villa Arasaka in lower Earth orbit and break-in so Mr_Friend can access their network and help Lishan planetside.
